Thanks for visiting. I’m so happy that you found me. As a mother, there is nothing I love more than supporting families as they welcome their new baby into the world.

We are so lucky here on the Sunshine Coast that there are many birth photographers, Doulas and Nannies to choose from. It is such an intimate and special time for new families, so finding the best person to include in your birth space and home is so very important.

Here’s a bit about me to give you an idea of whether we will be the right fit… I’m a typical introvert, preferring one-on-one or small group situations, yet I remain calm and communicate well under stress. I tend to see everything as beautiful and am understanding and non-judgmental. I love to do things slowly and carefully and caring for everyone and everything in a gentle, sensitive and super empathetic and patient manner. These qualities have caused me to accumulate a menagerie of high needs animals at home, where I live on acreage in Mapleton with my two wonderful adult children. At this stage we have a joyful Golden Retriever (Daisy), a pig with attitude (Moo), four horses; a wise, old Arabian (Shabby), a lovely Brumby (Barku), a cheeky Shetland pony (Mocha), and a young, dopey Clydesdale colt (Finley). It’s a bit of a funny farm! When I find a spare moment of time, I enjoy crochet, walking in nature and finding intricate details to observe and appreciate.

Here’s a little about my own journey with pregnancy, birthing and babies and my love of motherhood…

My love of the birthing process began when I was fortunate enough to be invited to witness the birth of my cousin by my beautiful aunt when I was just eight years old. I was mesmerized by the whole experience and the midwife allowed me to pop my head right under her arm to fully immerse myself in the wonder of birth.

When I was 13, my sister transitioned into motherhood and I learnt about the abundant needs of newborn babies and new mothers. Four years later, I watched and took photos as she laboured and gave birth to my niece and a year later, my new nephew. I was in awe of the incredibly powerful and deeply moving process of birthing.

I also loved babies and children and began babysitting and nannying from the age of 15 right up until I was ready to become a mother myself.

At 22 years old it was my turn and I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant. I felt empowered, delicate, invincible, enlightened, dreamy and intuitive… a complex combination of qualities arose and strengthened me. I had two wonderful birthing experiences, one home-birth and then one hospital birth and if circumstances allowed it, I would welcome giving birth every year of my life!

Becoming a new mother was blissful, emotionally intense, incredibly challenging, enriching, exhausting and the most positive transition of my life. Motherhood continues to bring me immense joy. I’m now a devoted mother to my beautiful adult children; my son, Malu (24) and my daughter, Tahlia (20).

When my children both started school, I began “The Tree House” Steiner-inspired family day care, which I ran for seven years, caring for the most delightful young children.

A dear friend then asked me to support her during the birth of her first baby and the wonder of birth consumed me again!

I began studying to be a birth doula with Childbirth International at the beginning of 2017. With the realisation of how important photographic documentation of the birth journey can be, I decided to develop my photography hobby to a professional level and completed the Birth Becomes Her birth photography course at the end of 2018. I also continue to attend workshops to update my knowledge on how best to support new families. My desire is to empower you to achieve a positive birthing experience and embrace your blossoming into parenthood.

I am lucky enough to have the best job in the world!

I would love to get to know you too! Please get in contact so we can make a time to meet in person and talk about how I can best support you.
